Net-Portfolio Site Review

Sporadically we will review various portfolios looking for the following:

·         How long since you last logged in or updated your portfolio

·         The standard of your portfolio

·         How active you are in the community

At our discretion and in the interest of the site and the community as a whole to remain a useful resource to all we may remove portfolios if they fail this review.

I am new, and only have cam shots will my portfolio be removed?

The answer is no.  We want new members keen to get a start to benefit from the site.  We will look to see your experience level correctly matches your images (web cam shots will be set to none) and look at your potential and if your portfolio is improving. New members with no experience we expect to see being very pro active to get seen. If you are not doing this we assume you are a dead account and not serious about the industry. This will result in your account removal, we don’t want deadwood. This is a site for people who are serious about this industry and those people are most welcome.

Who decides the standard?

We do.  We will also base it on the reaction of members on the site. If you are getting good responses and high rating for your work from respected members we may reconsider failing you on a review. In nearly all cases however your portfolio will be simply removed.

The standard will be based on a lot of criteria primarily through:

·         Level of creativity

·         Professionalism of the shots

·         Clear match of images to experience level

·         Potential for the future

·         Level of improvement since joining

If you are active in the community and are clearly making an effort to improve regardless of the standard of your portfolio we will always give you a good chance to improve your art. ‘Deadwood’ members who do nothing in the community, don’t log in often and have a poor portfolio are the prime removals for us. No one wants to go through the same old portfolios every day looking for talent.

If we adjust a portfolios experience level it is based upon this criteria:

  • No Experience – This is you only have web cam, mobile phone or holiday snaps
  • New to industry – If you have only done 1 or 2 shoots and/or have not yet built your confidence to consider yourself a higher level
  • Limited Experience – For those who are not new but still have not worked with many other models/photographers with limited portfolios and standard
  • Intermediate – Wide variety of experience with different models, mua's etc, doing regular shoots and have a fair number of images to choose from.
  • Advanced – You have a varied portfolio, you might be semi-professional, most likely are being offered work regularly and your portfolio will be of a high polished standard
  • Professional – You do this for a living is a must, the level of work must be exceptional and clearly of top level work.

What is considered being active?

We want active, social members. Happy to help others, always looking to push the boundaries and improve who are enthusiastic and keen on this industry. If your logging in regularly, replying to your emails, posting on forums, rating other members, offering advice and asking questions you will be considered a very active member who is benefiting all by being here.
