Ok I been here a while now and only one kind person has commented on a image, I also given some out. I'm not complaining that I not got any back maybe it is that **** maybe not! So will anyone be happy to offer me some tips as I have a shoot with a model next week and I really like to deliver the results for both of us. So if you give me some I return it for you. Also any tips on what you would like to see on my port?

Hi JJ,

I remember a post or a shout out or something where you were asking for more comments, as you have posted this I am going to be honest as to why I did not go onto comment your images.

I looked at your profile and none of those images for me would score higher than a 3, as I try not to highlight the bad images and only focus on the good I left no comment.

Your image 69680 is very basic but I think your best shot. It still doesn't have that end pro polish that you see from the great shots. Every detail of the face should come out and the expression of the model could be better. If you look at some of the fantastic head shots of this nature capturing the detail you'll see what I mean.

What you lack is the lighting that changes your images from what I would expect most can do to what a pro can do.

69992, 68834 have a cool light effect of all the ones you have but the images just don't have any appeal.

69992 the models chest looks almost bursting out of that top and I am sorry but I am not one of those to say anyone can model. She doesn't have any features of her face that come out on images well, maybe she does and you failed to capture it? Either way I don't look twice at it. it is shot with shirt open, sexy, however for me it is anything but. Even the way she is holding the hat is strange.

68834, all I can focus on is the arm that has been made extra large by being pressed against the body and again the lighting has made her look flat in her face with no features.

71479? I don't know what to say about this, it is a picture no better than my personal digital camera or my phone could have taken of a room of rubbish? Why is this even in your portfolio if you want to be taken seriously?

69679 - this looks ok but what the model is wearing, the ear ring that clashes in colour to the rest, the dull grey back drop, the model who clearly is inexperienced.

69678 - It's ok, but it looks no better than a corporate shot by a company for their 'who we are' page.

67916 - A shot of an untoned bum, but it is in black and white so it is art nude. This is not art nude.

68835, the model has bags under her eyes, her hair is all choppy and unbrushed, the pose is miserable and the angle is unflattering. Not a good head shot.

67065 - at least she is smiling and I do like the sexyness to this but she is looking down, so her neck is lost, still same issues with hair etc and the lighting is flat

67919 - Bad cropping, either go to waist or full length not above the knee like this, is this suppose to show fashion? What is the aim? Model pose is dreadful, where is your directing? The light is over shot and again no detail of the face is on show.

67917 - At least this is crisp and the background is not a dull grey so this is better. Models hair looks slightly better and the brighter colour make a huge difference. This needs some better cropping, too much void above her and that picture frame has to go. The model really should have put some make up on to make the eyes pop though.

67918 - I like this but the nose cannot be seen as it is too bright or you over smoothed the skin, maybe this was the intended effect, it just does not work for me. The eyes look shopped and the image looks too fake.

So that is my harsh reality of your profile as I see it, others very well may disagree.

So for the constructive part, I think your biggest issue is you are still learning and yet using inexperienced models that you are not at a level to direct. Get a much better model, study images taken by some of the others and get the model to pose giving more shapes and angles. Don't use dull backgrounds and be weary of background clutter in advance. Keep in mind how you will crop the shot and get your lighting less flat, don't forget the models neck, don't let them hunch up. Don't over think your shoot and remember don't aim for 10 perfect shots, take 100's and from that hope to get 10. Try and capture your model more natural.

Good luck and I hope my harshness is seen as honesty which I hope helps. Telling you the shots are great will only leave you to carry on confused at your lack of image ratings.

Some folks have just as much self-image as those that make us go

Just my opinion!

Good on you. Thought you had gone for good because you took offence to the comments M made about your port. Reading between the lines but could be wrong but hey welcome back.
