Well Rent free anyway. There's an empty building around the back of my house and it been used as a painters studio for years then turned in to a storage room. So today I asked if I could use it as a photograhy studio and been told to go for it! It be a while before I start using it as it needs to be emptied first then repaired as a couple of slates had come off the roof. The repaint it and set it up. There a lovely old beam going across the room so it has some nice features in it with a nice fireplace and it huge over 20ft long by 10ft wide so plenty of room to work in. So that means I can start planning my projects that I have been thinking about and give the living room back to my long suffering wife bless her.
I just felt like shouting about it so sorry if it did not interest you. ......JJ

Wow, that sounds fantastic! I bet most of us wouldn't mind a rent free studio being made available to us

Thanks for the comments, Well with me living out of the way and not getting many offers from models I could do other things in there. As I have some wild image thoughts I could spend time working the lights out etc till I find a willing model to carry them out.
With me doing it in the livingroom it gets in the way of things kids or myself for that matter kicking the stands dog playing on the background so it was hard work but with this studio I not have that worry. And saves me time setting everything up when I do need them then having to put it all away afterwards.
So why not! The only thing I got to pay for is any damage that incures, and electric, they going to put in a meter for me so I get a fair bill from the electricty board as there a link going from the same building to another painters studio on the grounds.
So yes I'm very lucky

I put up a image of the studio, I know it don't look big I'm 6ft 2 and I can stand under that beam, also it roughly 30ft by 25ft wide 2 small window. Now just get to get my finger out to clean it and repair it to make it suitable to use!

Nice one JJ! You posted my request of a pic. You've got a lot of potential with this. Knowing my luck I'd get one offered to me as long as I get rid of the Rats. If I lived nearer to you we could team up cos I've got a decent studio set consisting of a 1 metre square softbox, 5 Brollies, 1 honeycombe, 1 Snoot, several flasheads up to 1000 watts. all sitting in the attic waiting for some new girlie to photograph - but they never reply. I will have to start paying professional models again if this keeps up as I'm suffering withdrawal symptoms.

At least Rad Dove has the courtesy to reply JJ. see my other rant on a new thread about idiots with fuzzy photos not bothering to reply. Ooooohhh I could crush a grape. I hope Net Portfolio managers see it and get rid of the dead wood.

Calm down dear... it's just a commercial Or is it a rehearsal? Yes I know Red Dove but I had to air my washing in public. I hope I get some replies before I go up the wooden hills to Bedfordshire.

Don't let it get to you bud, It gets me and I get peed off too then my wife turns around and says "plenty more fish in the sea" And she is right just got to time it right, I'm sure we all heard it over and over again and may hear it again 'Patience's is a virtue!' Your day will come just don't show your anger on the forum It's just a screen!
